Prattville played a little kick the ball around on a frigid night at their home court Thursday night, yet the Lions won in laughter over the Jeff Davis Volunteers, 22-7. Prattville spotted Jeff Davis a 3-0 lead in the opening inning; however the Volunteers pitching staff couldn’t hold the lead. Ten base on balls and a 16 hit attack paced the Lions to their sixth win of the season, rather easily. Prattville knotted the game in their half of the first inning with base raps from Chandler Mullins, Pearson Hall and Shelby McVey. The Lions went ahead in the second inning as Chase Barber led off with a double and scored on Mullins' sacrifice fly to left field. The roof caved in on the Volunteers in the third inning as Prattville paraded 15 batters to the plate, scored nine runs on four base hits and five walks, one hit batter along with a pop fly ball dropped. It got worst for the Volunteers in the fourth inning as Prattville paraded sixteen hitters to the plate and added nine more runs to ease to the five inning mercy rule victory. The five inning mercy rule win was a welcome event for the few spectators left at the nine o’clock hour, as the temperature plunged into the high 30’s. Zach Brown picked up the win, while Luke Carey pitched two innings in middle relief and Will Hamm closed out the volunteers in the fifth inning. Pearson Hall paced the Lions hit parade with a perfect night at the plate, three for three. Chandler Mullins, Shelby McVey, Chandler Kemp, and Chase Baber all had two base hits. Mullins and Barber each had three RBIs.
