As the third quarter began Tuesday night, January 22 at Powell Gymnasium the Prattville Lions were looking at the short end of a 35-23 score. Needless to say the Lions had not played well for the first half and were looking at dropping the 2012-2013 series to their rivals from Wetumpka. Prattville lost to Wetumpka January 11th at Wetumpka, 68-63. As the second half began it got worst for the Lions, Terrance Leflore took the toss in to start the half and zipped down court for an easy layup and a 37-23 Wetumpka margin. Apparently Leflore’s layup shook the Lions out of their slumber, as Ky Ward hit a deuce from the paint. Ward’s two-pointer ignited the Lions to an incredible 18-0 run and a 41-37 lead with 5:19 left in third third period. Leflore finally broke Prattville’s run with a trey with 4:55 left. Prattville finished the quarter 12-8 and a 53-38 margin. Prattville won the final period 53-48 to pick up their sixth win of the season against 15 defeats. It also gave the Lions a 3-2 record in Area 7 standings. The Lions will play Thompson High in Alabaster January 24. Thompson sits on top of the standings with a 4-1 record. The Warriors only loss was to Wetumpka. Justin Coleman had his career game Tuesday night scoring 38 points. He was followed by Ty Ward with 11 points, Andre McBride added ten points, and pulled down 14 boards for a double-double. Zack Darby added seven points. Terrance Leflore led the Indians with 29 points, while Demarcus Hutchinson added 12 points and Charlie Crenshaw had six points.
