Daniel Ewert grabbed an offensive rebound with 16.8 seconds left with Prattville leading 65-61 and was fouled.  Ewert went to the free throw line and drained the front end, but missed the bottom end.  Prattville led 66-61.  Wetumpka raced down court with and Alaysha Clark drained a trey trimming the lead to 66-64.

Prattville took the ball out and Dazhanae Legette was tied up with a jump ball giving the ball to Wetumpka with 2.5 ticks left on the clock.  The Indians couldn’t get off a shot, with Prattville surviving a nip and tuck affair, 66-64.

With the win Prattville won the 2012-2013 series having won earlier in Wetumpka, 57-49.

Behind terrific inside play from junior Jae Patterson the Lions raced to an early 18-14 lead at the close of the first period.  Patterson tossed in three buckets and pulled down four boards in the opening quarter.

Wetumpka led once in the first period after Adrianne Armstrong hit two free throws for a 6-4 lead.  Prattville went on an 8-2 run to regain the lead, 12-6, with 2:27 left in the first period and closed it out on top 18-13.

Wetumpka kept pecking away and with 1:58 left in the first half Antiona Richey flipped in a 2-pointer giving the Indians a 29-28 lead.  It was short lived as Patterson put the Lions back on top with another bucket from the paint with 34 seconds left.   The Lions led at halftime 32-31.

The third quarter was all Prattville.  The Lions won it handily, 23-13 for a commanding 11 point lead, 55-44, as the final period began.

It didn’t; take the Indians long to slap the Lions in the face.  Wetumpka raced to a 15-4 run from the opening toss in to start the quarter and take a 59-57 lead as Courtney Richardson hit three treys, one from downtown.

Tatitana Brooks grabbed a steal at half court from Legette and raced down court to trim Prattville’s lead to 57-56 setting up the trey from Richardson and the lead.

Brooks then gave the Indians a 61-59 lead with 3:08 left.   Prattville fought back as Aailyah Holmes hit four of five free throws putting the Lions back on top 63-61.  Holmes then zipped down the lane and added a deuce for a 65-61 lead.  Holmes had now scored the last six Lion points.

Holmes’ bucket set up the hectic finish with Ewert’s rebound and free throw.

Jae Patterson and Daniele Ewert led the Lions with both having double-doubles.  Patterson tossed in20 points and grabbed 19boards.  Ewert added 17 points and 14 boards.  Holmes finished with 16 points as the Lions improved to 15-7 and 4-1 in Area 7 play.

Alaysha Clark led the Indians with 20 points, while Adrianne Armstrong finished with 19 points and Courtney Richardson had the three treys for nine points.
