Home » Girls' Basketball NewsLADY LIONS BLOW AWAY CALHOUN TIGERS, 55-22November 28, 2012 By Jimmy White of Prattville High SchoolDANIELE EWERT POST DOUBLE DOUBLE IN EASY WIN FOR LIONS Prattville Lady Lion coach Virginia Barber pulled her starting five midway of the fourth quarter with a 51-17 lead over an outmanned Calhoun High School team Tuesday night at home. The Lady Lions reserves got five minutes of playing time as Prattville remained undefeated on the young season with a record of 6-0. Prattville's next home game will be December 7th with Stanhope Elmore coming to town. Daniele Ewert’s bucket with five minutes remaining gave Prattville the large lead with five minutes to play. The reserves finished the game battling Calhoun on even terms to post a 55-22 victory. The game began with a basket from Kelsey Horton to give Calhoun a 2-0 lead. Prattville then began a 16-0 run to end the quarter on top, 16-2. Aaliyah Holmes led the charge with seven points, followed by Daniele Ewert with five and Dazhanae Legette with four. By half time the Lions were on top 32-11. It didn’t get any better for the Lady Tigers in the third period falling behind, 44-15. Ewert led the Lions with a double double, tossing in 17 points and pulling down ten boards as well as dishing out four assists. Holmes added 11 points and five assists. Keisha Vingka and Volenciya Allen led Calhoun with both scoring five points.
