C. J. COLEMAN'S 24 POINTS PACE LION ATTACK

Coach Derrick Moncreif’s Prattville freshmen basketball team took advantage of an 8-0 run late in the first period Tuesday night, November 13 at James Powell Gymnasium to take a 12-6 first period lead over the visiting Marbury Bulldogs’ freshmen quintet, and never looked back en route to a 52-40 win.

With the victory the Prattville freshmen team improved to 5-0 on the young season.  The freshmen team will play at Selma Tuesday night November 20.

In the opening quarter Neguan Brown gave the Lions a quick 2-0 lead as he sank two free throws.  Marbury rallied back and took a 4-2 lead after two minutes of play.

C. J. Coleman then drove the baseline and tossed in a deuce to knot the game.  Marbury then went ahead with a bucket from Downs, 6-4.

This set the stage for the Lions' run to take control of the game. Coleman went coast to coast with a steal after hitting the bottom of a two shot free throw.  The basket gave the Lions a 7-6 lead.

Prattville finished out the period with baskets from Lavelle Winters and a three point play by Coleman.

Marbury rallied to trim the lead to 20-15 by halftime.  The second half the Lions romp to a 32-25 second half advantage and never trailed. Coleman led the Lions with 24 points, while Kaleid Jordan and Brown both added seven points.
