JUNIOR HIGH GETS NEW DEFENSIVE BACK COACH

FORMER PHS PLAYER JOINS JUNIOR HIGH STAFF
The Autauga County Board of Education approved the employment of Bryant Hall as a teacher of social studies at Prattville Junior High School May 31.
Hall a recent graduate of Huntingdon College will teach civics, geography and social studies with the seventh grade students at the school.
In addition to his teaching duties, he will also assist the football program as a defensive back coach working with head Junior High Coach, Donnie Burnett.
Hall graduated from Prattville High School in 2006. He earned a scholarship offer to play baseball at Wallace State Community College in Hanceville. Hall played one season at Wallace State and then transferred to Jeff Davis Community College in Brewton. Hall finished his two year community college career with the Warhawks and enrolled at Huntingdon College. Bryant Hall received his Bachelor of Science Degree in History with a certification in Education May 5.
During his career at Prattville High school Hall was a three year letterman for Roger Lambert’s Prattville High baseball team. He was an outstanding outfielder where he hit .385 his junior season and .322 his senior season.
He also earned three letters with the football team. He was one of defensive coordinator Duwan Walker’s outstanding defensive backs, and was named to the Montgomery Advertiser’s All-Metro team twice.
"I guess coaching is in my blood,” Hall said Tuesday morning June 19, at the High School Athletic Building. “My father coached Little League, and I have an older brother who is still coaching in high school. I enjoyed coaching and decided that was what I would like to do. I applied at the Board of Education and got the call in May that they had a position open at the junior high.”
Hall is currently helping coach Chad Anderson with the varsity defensive backs at the high school.
Hall is the son of Randy and Kim Hall of Prattville. His oldest brother Kevin Hall is the head baseball coach at Holtville High School. He also has a middle brother Brett Hall, who was a star baseball player for the Lions from 2001-2004.
Brett earned a scholarship to the University of Alabama at Birmingham, where he played four years. He is currently employed in Birmingham and makes his home in Mountain Brook.
