The 26 points were the fewest Peabody has scored this year. The Lady Warhorses never scored more than eight points in any quarter. Merritt said his team had been working on new defensive formations during the long stretch between games. "We created a lot of turnovers but just as importantly we got to use all of our defenses tonight. I thought we were effective in all of them," Merritt said. Though she struggled underneath the goal early, Ouachita's Kevion Moten got going in the second half to finish with a team-leading 13 points. Only Kadeejah Alexander entered double-digit scoring for the Lady Warhorses. She finished the game with 13 points. The Lady Lions return to action at 6 p.m. Friday at home against West Monroe in the first game of district play. Both Ouachita and West Monroe enter the game as 20-plus win teams, and both are currently ranked among the top six teams in the LHSAA's Class 5A power ratings.
