CHARLOTTE, N.C. – Junior Sydney Golden (Lexington, Ky./Paul L. Dunbar) was tabbed Big South Women's Soccer Defensive Player of the Week for her play in a pair of Radford wins over Old Dominion and Delaware State last weekend, announced the league office on Tuesday afternoon.

Golden played an integral part in helping the Highlanders (3-2) to their 2-0 weekend.  Her presence as a central defender limited Old Dominion and Delaware State to just one goal, and 12 shots, seven on goal.  She stuffed several runs by both opponents as Radford shut out Delaware State and limited ODU to a goal. She also assisted on the game-winner against the Monarchs and her corner kick service played a key role in the game-winning strike against the Hornets.  The honor marks her first Defensive Player of the Week plaudit this season.

Radford returns home on Friday, Sept. 7 and to close out its non-conference schedule, hosting Southern Virginia at 7:00 p.m.
