Thousands of fans stormed the gyms for autograph signings and fun-filled games in Gastonia, Hickory, Fayetteville, Wilmington, Southern Pines, Boone and Greensboro. On Thursday, Apr. 15, the ACC All-Stars will be in Rockingham to play a game at Richmond Senior High School. This year’s roster is highlighted with players from each of the Big Four schools: NCAA Champion Duke, North Carolina, Wake Forest and North Carolina State. Standouts include Jon Scheyer from Duke, a first-team all-ACC selection; Ishmael Smith from Wake Forest, a second-team all-ACC choice; and 2009 National Champions Marcus Ginyard and Deon Thompson from UNC. Duke’s Brian Zoubek and Lance Thomas; N.C. State’s Dennis Horner and Farnold Degand; and Wake Forest’s L.D. Williams, Chas McFarland and David Weaver round out the rest of this one-of-a-kind team. Tickets are on sale now at Richmond Senior High School, as well as the Medical Center Pharmacy; Family Pharmacy; and Mabry’s Drug Store in Hamlet. Tipoff is slated for 7:30 p.m., and general admission tickets are $10, with a limited number of VIP tickets available for $50. VIP tickets include a post-game reception with the players and a front-row seat to the game. Festivities will also include a 3-point shooting contest and dunk contest at halftime, with an autograph session following the game. The ACC All-Stars will face off against the Sandhills All-Stars, a team which will feature the following players: Richmond County: Quinton Quick, Brian Love, Tedarrius Wiley, Kasheem Reid, Jide Riddick and Anthony Keane; Pinecrest: Julian Brewer, Daquan Towns, Cedrick Threadgill and Harron Carson; Scotland County: Mo Covington, Dominique Clark, Lamar McIntyre, Lamont Browne, Trey Edwards, Otis Cromartie and Antonio Deese. The event will give these players a once in a lifetime chance to step on the court with the best the ACC has to offer. Fans will get their last chance to see all their favorite players in action one last time before they graduate and move on to the next chapter of their lives. Head Coaches David Laton (Richmond), Mike Ritchie (Scotland) and Mike Apple (Pinecrest) will man the sidelines. Proceeds from the event will benefit the Ronald McDonald House and the Richmond Senior High School Athletic Department.
