Home » Boys' Golf NewsPatriots Golf wins by 32 strokes in 2nd SEC MatchMarch 16, 2010 By James Frye of Pinecrest High SchoolThe SEC held it's second conference golf match Monday afternoon at Bayonet CC at Puppy Creek near Reaford, as Hoke Co. High School was the match host. The event turned out to be more of a mis-match than a match as the Patriot team shot a season low 1 under par 287 to claim the team win by a huge margin of 32 storkes. The Patriots were lead by freshman Zachary Martin and Austin Dunlap who claimed the tournament medalist title by firing rounds of 3 under par 69s. Rounding out the Patriot scores were Bryan Stewart with 2 over 74, Sam Kosich 75 and Nick Thompson 75. Taking second place were the Raiders of Richmond Co. with a team total of 319 while Purnell Swett shot 324. Other leading individual scores were Ian Locklear of Purnell Swett who fired a 1 under par 71 to claim 3rd place, and last weeks medalist Alex Dial shot 5 over par 77. The teams return next Monday to play the 3rd conference match at Scotch Meadows GC in Laurinburg as Scotland Co. is the host school. TEAM/INDIVIDUAL RESULTS:
