Bears Compete in Raider Classic

Beavercreek, OH.........The UPIKE Men's Bowling program competed in the 2011 Raider Classic, held at Beaver-Vu Bowl.  Spare shooting continued to plague the team with the Bears finishing 8th place in the varsity division.   There were 22 Schools in the Varsity division.  The Bears JV (C) team qualified for the eliminator roll-off, by qualifying third with a 8452 total.  The Bears JV (B) team qualified 4th for the roll-off with a 8212 total.  The top 4 teams in each division qualified for the roll-off.  Then each team bowls 4 games and the top 2 teams advance to the championship match.  The bears JV (B) team was 3rd and the Bears JV (C) team finished 4th.

Freshman Casey Castle, of Harold, KY, made the JV All-Tournament Team with an average of 204.60.  Other Pikeville top scorers were Sophomore Jeff Blind, of Webster, NY 203.00; Sophomore Rodrick Taylor, of Richmond, VA 202.50; Freshman Lucas Hohnstein, of Boise, ID 195.60; Freshman Anthony Scerati, of Mount Laurel, NJ 193.40; Sophomore Fidel Marchena, of The Dominican Republic 193.20; Freshman Kyle Kieser, of Jasper, IN, 191.40; Derek Perkins, of Oklahoma City, OK 190.60.

The Bears will be back on the lanes over the Thanksgiving Holiday as they travel to Fairview Hts., IL to compete in the 2011 National Team Match Games.
