South Earns 15 Chairs for Missouri All-State Band

Missouri All-State BAND  

15 CHAIRS EARNED – (4 students won multiple chairs and had to choose one)

5 FIRST CHAIR AWARDS – This is an honor representing the best high school musician in the state of Missouri – HIGHLIGHTED YELLOW

1.       Lauren Campbell (2nd Chair Flute All-State Orchestra Wind)

2.       Samantha Choi (11th Chair Clarinet All-State Band)

3.       Kevin Curtis (12th Chair Clarinet All-State Band)

1.      Paige Stifter - Oboe/English Horn (1st Alternate – 1st Chair Honorable Mention)

2.       Jason Puder (12th Chair Clarinet - Honorable Mention)

3.      Luke Ravenscraft (5th Chair French Horn - Honorable Mention)

4.       Terrence Carver (5th Chair Tuba - Honorable Mention)

Missouri All-State JAZZ BAND -- 3 Recognized (1 Alternate & 2 Honorable Mention)

Bari Saxophone -- Will Peak (Honorable Mention)

Trombone -- Galen Dods (Honorable Mention)

Guitar -- Matthew Clinkenbeard (1st Alternate All-State Jazz)

Joining these students will be junior string bass player Michelle Huey – her audition on Saturday qualified her for the All-State Band as well!!  This year’s repertoire for the Missouri All-State Band calls for one string bass player, and Michelle will serve in that role at the Missouri Music Educators Association in January as well.  Many congratulations to all of these fine musicians from Park Hill South!
