Person High School With the recent retirement of longtime Athletic Director Ronnie Peed, Person High School went on the search for a new person to fill the vacancy.
The school found that individual last week when former Southern Middle School AD Mark Phillips was hired to replace Peed. Person Principal Steve Hester confirmed Phillips' hiring on Monday.
Phillips, whose 15 years at Southern included serving as a Health and Physical Education teacher, baseball coach, and Athletic Director, will be the high school's fourth AD in its 40-plus year history.
Peed retired this summer after 14 years in the position and 39 years as a teacher, assistant high school football coach, and administrator in the Person County School system.
