Former Rockets lead No. 1 Wingate

The Wingate University Bulldogs volleyball team is the number 24 team in this weeks AVCA Top 25 poll. This poll marks the fifth consecutive week the Bulldogs have been in the top 25. Wingate is the only team in South Atlantic Conference history to earn a top 25 ranking.
Former Person High School stars Brittany Horner and Amanda Clark are starters on the Wingate team, which defeated Carson-Newman College 3-1 on Sunday in the 2009 Food Lion SAC Tournament championship match. The victory clinched Wingate it's fourth consecutive SAC Tournament title. The Bulldogs are 34-1 overall. Wingate has won 22 consective matches this season. The Bulldogs have now won 12 straight SAC Tournament contests.
