On Saturday, the Perry County Central Lady Commodores traveled to Elliott County to take on the Lady Lions. The Lady Commodores got their offense going as they mercy-ruled the Lady Tigers with a 12-2 score.

Ashley Morris opened the evening’s scoring by taking a header in the box off the pass by Brooke Campbell, and dribbling around the defense for a one-on-one with the goalie. Two minutes later, Morris dropped off a pass to Campbell, who deposited it in the net for the 2-0 lead.

Ashley Morris continued her assault on the Lady Lions’ defense by scoring back-to-back unassisted goals (4-0). The Lady Commodores took the 5-0 lead as Brooke Campbell assisted Dallas Coots in the box. On the ensuing kickoff, Elliott County muffed the ball, and Lindsey McIntyre picked it up and raced to the goal (6-0).

Perry Central went up 7-0 as Brooke Campbell dribbled through traffic for a strong shot on goal. Elliott County then picked up their first goal on a penalty kick after a Lady Commodore foul in the box. Taylor Adkins got the goal back for Perry Central. Adkins took a deflection in the box straight to the net for the 8-1 halftime lead.

Dallas Coots got Perry Central on the board in the second half. Coots dribbled through the box and found herself with a one-on-one opportunity with the goalie, which she made good on (9-1). A few minutes later, Coots completed her hat-trick by taking a corner kick to the net (10-1).

Elliott County got their second goal of the game without taking the shot. The ball deflected off the leg of a Perry Central player and went in the goal (10-2).

The Lady Commodores picked up back-to-back goals to close out the game. Brooke Campbell finished off a stellar back-and-forth passing exhibition for the 11-2 lead, and Kelsey Lowe stopped the game (12-2) with a shot in the penalty box.

Makayla Lewis had four saves in the game.
