The 2010-2011 Pegasus Sports Network basketball broadcast season begins as the pre-season favorite to win the boys' 8th region - the Oldham County Colonels - open their season at home against the Grant County Braves. Second-year coach Jason Holland will be counting on junior point guard Kerry Smith (11 ppg in 2009-10) to lead the Colonels as they start the season minus some injured players, including powerful inside player senior Dylan Simms.
Grant County is coached by first-year coach Jim Hicks, who leads a team that finished 10-16 a year ago. But that team lost to Oldham County just 81-76 in overtime when the two squads last met on January 23rd, 2010, in Dry Ridge.
