Coach VanderHyde

As a player and student assistant at Hope College in Holland, Michigan Chris had the fortunate opportunity to play for and work with one of the all time winningest coaches in Division 3 history, Hall of Fame Coach Glenn VanWieren.  

Having spent the last three years as the top assistant in the Men's Basketball Program at Bethel University, Chris was in charge of the defense and worked as recruiting coordinator.  Bethel saw much success the last two seasons making the MIAC playoffs in back to back years while leading the conference in defensive statistics for both of those seasons.  

Prior to his years as top assistant at Bethel, Chris led the St. Paul Humboldt Girls Basketball team to their first ever City Conference championship.  With more than 13 years of coaching experience at the high school and college level Chris brings a passion and knowledge about the game that will strengthen a Pirate program with a rich tradition.

Chris lives in New Brighton with his wife Holly and three daughters; Madilynn (6), Emma (4), and Elise (2). 


Coach Crutch

Hi I’m Arthur Crutch and this is my second year in the Park Center girl’s basketball program. I’m also an assistant varsity football coach for the Pirates where I have just finished my 3rd season and the varsity distance track coach for the pirates as well. Prior to Park Center I was a varsity assistant on the Orono girl’s basketball team, under Ellen Wiese for 3 years, a varsity assistant for 5 years in the Elk River football program, and 2 years as an assistant football coach at Osseo Senior high. I have also coached 8th grade boys’ basketball, 9th grade girls’ basketball and Varsity track at Brooklyn Center High School. In total I have been coaching high school sports for 9 years now.


When I’m not coaching, I’m spending time with my wife Qiana and our Cocker Spaniel Lexie, and attending Metropolitan State University obtaining my Education degree to become a high school math teacher.

 

Coach Joubert Hayes

Dana Joubert Hayes has a wealth of experience having coached at the collegiate, AAU, and high school levels in a career that spans over fifteen years. 

Joubert Hayes played collegiate basketball at the University of Minnesota where she was a four-year letter winner and team captain.  She continued on to play professional basketball over seas before returning to school where she earned her Master’s Degree in Sports Administration.

As a coach, Joubert Hayes has a successful coaching record at many levels of play. She has coached at the NCAA Division I, II, & III levels while also having experience with high school and AAU teams.  Joubert Hayes got her coaching start here in Minnesota Coaching one of the states top Girls AAU programs taking 2 teams to the National Tournament.  Joubert Hayes also coached both a boys and a girls AAU team in Houston Texas where each team also saw state and National success.  Her collegiate coaching career started at St. Thomas Unversity and later went on to coach at Wayne State University in Michigan and also Eastern Michigan University.  She then began coaching at the high school level serving as Head Coach for the Girls Basketball Programs at Arlington High School, Como Park High School and The Blake School. 

Joubert Hayes currently works for Ramsey County Human Services as a Child Protection Worker.  She is married to Darren Hayes and the proud mother of two daughters Mikayla & Jadyn.


Coach Buirge

Ashley is a 2009 Park Center graduate. While attending Park Center she was a five sport athlete, receiving varsity letters in soccer, golf, track, softball and basketball. Throughout her High School career Ashley was awarded various athletic awards such as All Conference and All Section.  Her ambitious High School agenda granted a NCAA Division II Softball scholarship to The University of Minnesota Duluth.  It was there where she was a part of a 3 year Nationally Ranked Softball team while receiving a first class education.

At The University of Minnesota Duluth, Ashley majored in Communications, with a minor in Coaching.  During her Coaching Practicum she had the opportunity to work under Mr. Tom Bang of Hermantown High School.  Tom was recently elected into the Softball Hall of Fame awarded for his contributions to softball throughout Minnesota. 

This Park Center Alumni knows what it takes to put on the jersey with Pirates written on the front. She hopes to instill a positive work ethic, a love for the game and a bond that can never be broken. Ashley is eager to learn under such a decorated coaching staff and be a role model to this Pirate Tough squad.  

 

Ashley is currently employed at Renovation Systems as a Customer Service Specialist, living in Brooklyn Park.



Coach Coalwell

Mark Coalwell is entering his 11th year of coaching at Park Center and his 9th season leading our Sophomore Squad.  Mark graduated from Moorhead State University with a degree in Information Systems and Mathematics and retired as a Senior IT Consultant and Practice Director in 2000.  Mark's previous coaching experience includes 5 years with the Wayzata Boys Basketball Association/AAU teams and 3 years with the Osseo Maple Grove Basketball Association.  He has also coached 5 years in the Wayzata-Plymouth Youth Football program and 7 years with Hamel Youth Baseball.  

Mark is currently employed with Osseo Area Schools in Due Process Administration for Special Education at the Osseo Secondary Transition Center and the ACHIEVE Program.  He and his family reside in Maple Grove.


Coach Meissner

Randi Meissner grew up in New Hope, Minnesota.  She attended Armstrong High School  and where she played volleyball as well as basketball.  Her volleyball team won the state tournament and she was selected to the All-State Volleyball team.  Randi played on the varsity basketball team all 4 years of high school and was an All-Conference selection in grades 10, 11 and 12.  She played AAU basketball throughout high school and attended several national tournaments.    Randi earned a full scholarship at the University of Missouri Kansas City and played there 2 years.  She transferred to Park University in Missouri and was selected as an All American.  She led the nation in rebounding while attending Park University.

Randi began coaching as an AAU Coach where she coached high school girls for about 8 years.  Prior to coming to Park Center, she was coaching at Benilde St. Margaret's for the past 7 years.  She coached grades 7-10. 

She currently works at Park Center High School as a Special Education ESP.  She lives in Plymouth with her boyfriend John and their two kids Isaiah (6) and Kyranai (1).
