Pirates clip the Cardinals' wings

February 22, 2012
By Bryan Hovde of Park Center Girls Basketball

Looking to avenge a loss to Coon Rapids in their first match up of the season, the Pirates really wanted and needed this victory.  Only up 1 point at halftime after a small Coon Rapids run to end the first, the second half was all PC.  The pirates outscored the Cardinals by 10 in the second to earn the 68-57 win.  It was icing on the cake that Champlin Park lost to Centennial and PC is now all by themselves in 3rd place in the conference.  With an overall record of 15-9, the Pirates look to finish the seaon strong with games against Armstrong and Blaine and gain some momentum going into sections.
