Hounds Play to a Draw versus Berea

September 29, 2011
Paris High School

The Paris Boys Soccer team played to a 1-1 tie against visiting Berea (5-5-1) on Wednesday, September 28, 2011.  Although Paris got off to a weak start and gave up a goal at the 9 minute mark, the Hounds once again responded with strong defensive play spearheaded by Sophomore Blanton Park and a second half personnel change which bolstered the back line with Sophomore Deantre Landrum.

Paris tied the score at the 62nd minute when Junior Ethan Gibson crossed the ball along the six where Freshman Halen Stamper provided the scoring touch.  Although Paris had five more shots on target during the second half, they were unable to frame a goal in the remaining minutes.

Coach Bill Gibson was extremely pleased with his team's second half effort and thought his Keeper, Junior Logan West had another tremendous performance.  The Hounds' record stands at (6-7-1) on the year with four remaining regular season games prior to the district tournament.
