Bat Hounds Pick Up Win Over Augusta

May 20, 2011
Paris High School

Paris 6  Augusta 1

The Greyhounds defeated the Augusta Panthers by the score of 6 to 1 this past Thursday.  The Greyhounds started out quick as they scored 2 runs in the 1st inning as Shelby Roe had the big bat knocking in 2 runs for the Hounds.  The big inning for the Hounds came in the 5th as Shelby Roe doubled leading off the 5th and Daniel Lemons hit a home run.  Jacob Myers followed with a triple and Evan Carpenter sacrificed Myers home.  The only other run the Hounds scored was in the 2nd inning as Daniel Lemons lead off with a single and was driven in by Jacob Myers.  Oscar Alamilla went the distance for the Hounds as he only gave up I run on 3 hits.  "Oscar continues to be the leader on our team as he is the type of player that does everything asked of him.  He has made himself into a pretty good pitcher and he continues to improve in all areas."  This was another team win for us as we continue to improve and get ready for the District tournament.  We are very proud of kids." said Cary Barr head baseball coach.
