Ladyhounds Play Great, Fall to Model

Paris 1, Model 2

With 25 shots on goal taken by 5 different field players, we only had one converted.  Akhira Umar had 8 alone and it just seemed the goal was out of reach for the very frustrated Umar.  Upon completion of the match, Head Coach Mike Bailey expressed that we rightfully won that game.  He complimented the defense as being a solid wall.  Lizzie Preston handled and managed their go-to player who was fast and quick-footed.  She was a threat throughout the game.  It was unfortunate that a trapping mistake was made which resulted in their first goal.  Senior Chelsea Parrish exploded from the midfield but was unable to get a good angle on the ball.  Keeper Hunter Harrison came out and did get a piece of the ball but the deflection was not enough.
The second goal came as a surprise skipping through the defenders on the six. Harrison tried to make the sudden shift but Model had been waiting on the back post.
The Lady Hounds did not give in to the mistakes, though.  Gloria Ponce with 25 left to go in the match, shot from outside the box and placed it nicely over their keeper's reach.  Assist came from Jazmin Perez.  This second wind stimulated 12 more shots on goal in the remaining 25.  We just couldn't catch a break.  The tactical game looked great.  The Lady Hounds have found a rhythm that has been long awaited.
