BOURBON EDGES PARIS 1-0
Paris grabbed the attention of cross-town district rival Bourbon County Monday night when it was obvious the Hounds had shown up to play. Despite several scoring opportunities, Paris lost a heartbreaker in the last three minutes when a ball that could not be played out of the goal box fell to the ground and a Bourbon County player was able to punch it in.
Paris rattled the post on several shots and missed four others by inches as the Greyhounds kept Bourbon County's goal keeper on his toes. "Sometimes you are unlucky and that is what happened tonight," said Paris Coach Bill Gibson. "Either team could have won it, and Bourbon County capitalized on their opportunity. They played a really hard-nosed game and fought us until the end.”
The Coach praised his team by saying, "This is one of the most complete games we have played. I can't comment on any one player because they all played so hard and well. If we bring this pace of play for the rest of our games, I expect we can be a formidable team by district tournament time."
The Greyhounds record stands at 6-4-2 and they travel to Walton-Verona on Thursday.
