MONROE CITY COMMUNITY BETTERMENT ASSOCIATION 3-ON-3 Basketball Tournament - SAT, JULY 2, 2011

ENTRY FEE AND DEADLINE INFORMATION:  Team entry fee of $60 must accompany the team registration form and be postmarked on or before June 17^th.  Those postmarked after June 17^th will be accepted on a space available basis and at the discretion of the MC CBA.  The entry fee may be paid by check, money order, or certified check made payable to the MC CBA.  Registrations sent without the entry fee will not be honored.  There will be no refunds of fees with these exceptions: 1) Received after entry deadline, or 2) Not enough teams in the age division.  No refunds will be made simply because of other conflicts or a team fails to participate.

TO ENTER:  The registration form must be completely filled out.  Please submit team name & email address.  Entry form is valid only with signed waivers and $60 entry fee.  Each team player and their parent or guardian must sign the waiver before they will be permitted to play.  Team Name and contact person MUST appear on the entry form, along with the names and t-shirt sizes of 3 - 4 players.  All players will receive a t-shirt.  Trophies will be given to 1^st place teams, and individual players' medals will be awarded to teams finishing first, second, and third in each age group.

2011 MC CBA 3-ON-3 BASKETBALL TOURNAMENT RULES

• 1. Report to your game on time. The Coach must report to the official bracket table no less than 3 minutes prior to game time to complete a score sheet. A coach or representative of the winning team is responsible for carrying the score sheet at the end of each game to the official bracket table. Please bring this to the bracket table as soon as the game is completed.

•2.        No court warm-ups: Be stretched and ready to play as soon as the game preceding your game is finished.  A coin flip will determine possession to start the game.  There will be 3 minutes between each game.  Teams should wear same color shirts or jerseys.  Boys ages 11 through 16 will use a boy's regulation size ball!

• 3. The game ends when one team reaches 15 points or the clock runs out after 12 minutes, whichever comes first.
• 4. Each court will have a referee and a scorer assigned to regulate play. These people are volunteers so show good sportsmanship. Good sportsmanship is expected of all participants and fans.
• 5. Fighting, vulgar language and unsportsmanlike conduct will not be tolerated under any circumstances and could result in immediate ejection from the tournament.
• 6. One 30 second time out is allowed, however, the clock keeps running no matter what. A time out may not be called in the last two minutes of the game.

•7.        Scoring: Made baskets inside the arc count as 1 point.  Made baskets outside the arc count as 2 points.  No free throws.  Fouled in the act of shooting, inside the arc, results in one point or, outside the arc, 2 points will be awarded to the offensive team on a missed attempt.  One additional point is awarded the offensive team on a made attempt.  The team charged with the foul is then awarded the ball to resume play.  Non-shooting fouls: Offensive team retains possession of the ball with the exception of a team's 6^th foul.  On 6^th and subsequent fouls 1 point is awarded to the offensive team for each non-shooting foul and the ball is awarded to the team charged with the foul.  Jump balls:  Are awarded to the defensive team.  Any technical foul results in 2 points awarded to the opposing team.  Any one player or coach who receives a second technical foul will automatically be ejected from the remainder of the tournament.

• 8. The defensive team must clear the ball beyond the three-point arc before attacking the basket. This includes rebounding an ‘air' ball. The offensive team may attack the basket immediately on offensive rebounds.

•9.        All balls to be inbounded will be done at the top of the court and offense must have the ball checked by the defense.  After the ball is checked it can be put in play by a pass only.

• 10. Overtime games will be sudden death. First possession will be decided by a coin flip.
• 11. Officials shall order any player who is bleeding or has blood on a uniform to leave the game for treatment and/or change of uniform. The player may re-enter the game on a dead ball situation.
• 12. An adult coach/representative of each playing team must be present at the scorer's table during each game to monitor their team's score by flip charts. However, the score sheet will be considered the official score - not the flip chart.
• 13. PROOF OF AGE BY BIRTH CERTIFICATE REQUIRED IF QUESTIONED. (Age as of date of tournament) All age protests must be made the day of the tournament. If a player is found ineligible due to age, all games that the player participated in will be forfeited.
• 14. ALL REFEREES AND WORKERS ARE VOLUNTEERS. PLEASE SHOW RESPECT FOR THEM.
• 15. ALL DECISIONS BY MC CBA ARE FINAL.
