CAMP FEATURES

OFFENSIVE FUNDAMENTALS

  • Dribbling; passing; shooting; screen and cut

DEFENSIVE FUNDAMENTALS

  • Proper stance; footwork; rebounding

COMPETITIONS

  • King of the Court; Hot Shot

TEAM CONCEPT

  • Importance of team; unselfishness; being a good teammate

CAMP FACILITIES

  • Middle School Gymnasium

EQUIPMENT NEEDED

  • Basketball shoes, shorts, shirt

WAIVER

  • The Panther Basketball Camp will NOT be responsible for any medical or any other medically related charges in connection with a camper's attendance. By signing the registration form the parent authorizes the medical release of their child, and excuses all camp workers from any and all liability for injuries, accidents, and/or illness that occurred while at camp.

Camp discount for brothers and sisters ($25.00 for one sibling and $15.00 for each additional sibling)

BROCK EDRIS

CAMP DIRECTOR

Coach Edris played high school basketball and football in Carthage, IL. He earned all-state honors in both sports. The basketball team won three regional titles and the football team played in three state championship football games during his tenure.

                 After high school he earned a scholarship to play basketball at John Wood Community College for two years and became captain of the basketball team. He then continued his education and playing career at Central Methodist University where he earned basketball awards including best work ethic, most inspirational, and strength and conditioning. In addition, he was named all-conference, NAIA scholar-athlete, and a team captain during his tenure that earned a conference championship and two automatic bids to the NAIA Division 1 National Tournament. He also set the single season free throw record at CMU shooting 91.5%.

Coach Edris began teaching physical education and weight lifting at Monroe City last fall. With one year under his belt he is excited about the upcoming opportunities to help student athletes improve. He has seen an increased interest in  the basketball program this past year and knows that with commitment and determination, good things are in store for Panther basketball.

BROOKE LUDWIG

Assistant Camp Director

Brooke is originally from Monroe City. She excelled at basketball and was part of the ‘98 and ‘99 state tournament teams.

After high school she earned a scholarship to play basketball at Culver-Stockton College in Canton, Missouri. She is currently the Junior Varsity girls basketball coach.

Jordan Walkup

Assistant Camp Director

Jordan is originally from Monroe City. He was a three sport athlete for the Panthers from ‘02-'06. He is currently the Holy Rosary boys basketball coach
