On December 5, the Junior Varsity Boys Basketball Team made the trip to Fayette, to take on the Falcons. The Falcons proved to be scrappy squad, as the Panthers squeaked out a narrow 62-58 win. SG Jusin Eikel led all scores with 21, and PF Zach Etzler pitched in a solid 16pts, to go along with a team high 7 rebounds. The Panthers improved to 1-2 on the season, and set their priorities on the SOBOCO Invitational, where they'd meet the always talented Moberly Spartans. At the Southern Boone Invitational, turnovers cost the Panthers, as Centralia turned it over 17 times, to Moberly's mere 9 turnovers. Nevertheless, Sophomore PF Zach Etzler continued his dominating play collecting his first double-double of the year, scoring 11 points, and 12 rebounds. Five other Panthers scored; however, it wasn't enough as the Spartans downed the Cats 49-33. The Panthers will continue their stent in the SOBOCO Invitational as they will hope to defeat the Indians of Hallsville today, December 9. Come on out and support your Junior Varsity Boy's Basketball Team.
