CHS student goes to Wisconsin

October 29, 2012
By Kaitlyn Dollens of Centralia High School Activities

On June 15, 2012, Jana Breedlove, a senior at CHS, went to Racine, Wisconsin, on a mission trip with her youth group. They spent a whole week there helping families that were either financially or physically unable to help themselves. While she was there, the crew she was with built a family a fence around half of their yard and painted their garage.

Along with Jana, over 470 other kids from youth groups, including 4 others from CHS, went to this work camp and helped several other families. Jana says she really enjoyed meeting new people, and the experience allowed her to bond with her crew and youth group and brought them closer together.

When asked what she enjoyed the most about it, Jana replied, “Helping people that needed help. My resident was very thankful and appreciative. It was worth the 9-hour bus trip.”

The youth group plans on going on another mission trip in July of 2013 to Michigan.
