He graduated from Knox County High School and attended Truman State University. Mr. Smith has previously worked at Paris High School and Clark County High School. At Paris, Mr. Smith was the high school principal, and he was a teacher as well as a head football coach at Clark County. He achieved the 2008 state football championship at Clark County. The Paris school district received “Distinction in Performance” during his time at Paris. Outside of school, he enjoys Mizzou football. Mr. Smith decided to move here because Centralia offers a great school district and community in which to raise his children. If there was one thing he could change about CHS, he would put in new lockers, “Got it on my renovation wish list for next school year,” he stated. When asked what the best thing about Centralia is, he replied, “Everyone takes great pride in their role in the district. Things are done in a first-class way.” The next time you see Mr. Smith be sure to congratulate him on his achievements and welcome him to the community!
