Are students washing their hands effectively or just doing a courtesy wash? When most teenagers get finished using the restroom, they don’t feel the need to wash their hands, so they just walk right out. However, everyone feels completely different if someone else is in the bathroom too. When other people are in there and can see what you are doing, you feel that it is necessary to wash your hands, but you usually do not do it effectively. Most teens will do a “courtesy wash” and run some water over their hands and be done. This does not eliminate germs. If you want to wash your hands correctly, take the extra 30 seconds to use some soap. This is not going to kill you, or harm you in any way, but it will make everything much more sanitary.
