The Paintsville Lady Tigers are set to take on their cross town rival, the Johnson Central Golden Eagles. These two teams have faced earlier in the year, which resulted in a double digit victory for the Lady Eagles. The Lady Eagles are led by their senior point-forward, Amber Shepherd. Shepherd has defiantly made a name for herself throughout the region as one of the most prolific scorers as she enters this game averaging 19.2ppg, and shooting almost 50% from the field. If the Tigers can contain Shepherd, the Tigers defiantly increase their chances to win as no other Lady Eagle averages in double figures. The Lady Tigers have been playing much better since their last meeting, they dropped two heartbreakers to Sheldon Clark and Lawrence County whom both can contend for this region. For the Lady Tigers to win they have to play smart and not get into foul trouble like the last meeting between these two teams. Senior forward Andria Hansford, has to crash the boards and bang in the paint for baskets, junior point guard Shelby Carroll must have a productive night as well. The Lady Tigers can be a very streaky team at times and can get hot and stay hot, limiting turnovers and mistakes could be the key for the Lady Tigers. The games start time will be 7:30 at the Johnson Central High School gymnasium.
