New Monopoly pieces?

We all remember our childhood days of playing Monopoly with friends or family. The traditional Monopoly game has expanded into many new, modern games like Monopoly Millionaire Edition or Monopoly Electronic Edition, and the pieces from the original do not change very often.

The new Monopoly piece introduced is the cat, and it has replaced the iron. The election was held on the internet while fans from over 120 countries voted for their new favorite introduced and least favorite traditional piece. The new pieces that did not make the cut were the diamond ring, the guitar, the helicopter, and a robot. Unfortunately, the iron was the least favorite from the fans and was kicked from the game.

The other tokens in the game are the racecar, the shoe, the thimble, the top hat, the wheelbarrow, and the battleship. Most of the pieces were introduced in 1935 when the first Parker Brothers iteration of the game was created. The wheelbarrow and the dog, nicknamed “Scottie dog”, were added in the early 1950s.

The new Monopoly tokens will be added to the game later this year. The new cat token will be a evolutionary change and one of the few times they have ever changed the game.
