The Paintsville Tigers defeated the Jenkins Cavaliers by a score of 73-35. The win put the Tigers at 8-5 on the year, as the Cavaliers move to 4-12. The Tigers entered this game after coming of a big win in the all “A” classic over a good Betsy Layne squad. The Tigers sought revenge in this game, as the Cavs topped the Tigers earlier in the season. They had much production monday, Trevor Tiller led all scorers with 22 points and 2 hard two-handed dunks, Matt Miller got the work done inside, he finished with 17, and Matt Daniels finishes with 14 respectfully. The defense for the Tigers really showed up as they only allowed 3 points in the 1st quarter, and only 5 points were allowed in the 4th quarter. No player for Jenkins would score double figures in the game. Paintsville made the most of their opportunities at the offensive end as they made 20, two point field goals and 9, three pointers. The Tigers will be back in action tonight as they take on cross town rival Johnson Central. The game should be highly anticipated as both teams are capable of winning this region. Tonight is also a double header, as the Lady Tigers will take on the Lady Eagles beginning at 6:30 at the Paintsville High School gymnasium.
