A 2012-13 junior from Paintsville High School was chosen to attend the Rogers Scholars Summer Program in June at the Center for Rural Development in Somerset.
Matthew Barber, 16, the son of Tim and Joann Barber of Staffordsville, said he most enjoys Social Studies and is looking forward to his summer program.
The Rogers Scholars program is an intensive one-week youth leadership program that attempts to build the students' entrepreneurial and leadership skills.
Scholars will also be eligible to receive exclusive future scholarship opportunities from 16 colleges and universities.
Over 800 high school juniors have graduated from the program since its start in 1998.
