JV Packers fall to Lowndes

MOULTRIE - Lowndes rolled up 436 yards of offense and scored 35 unanswered second-half points to defeat the Colquitt County junior varsity football team 63-22 on Thursday at Tom White Field at Mack Tharpe Stadium.
Colquitt falls to 3-2. Lowndes remains unbeaten.
The Packers scored two touchdowns in the final 6:06 of the second quarter and trailed 28-22 at the half.
But Lowndes never let up in the final two quarters.
The Vikings rushed for 389 yards and completed their only pass for 47 yards.
Colquitt County quarterback Shelby Wilkes completed 10-of-19 passes for 177 yards and a 19-yard touchdown to Bobby Hill.
Alex Littleton completed 2-of-4 passes, including an 80-yard touchdown pass to Fred Phillips. He threw one interception.
Wilkes was sacked six times by the Vikings.
Littleton's touchdown pass to Phillips pulled the Packers to within a point at 7-6 in the first quarter, but Lowndes led 21-6 heading into the second quarter.
Lowndes led 28-6 when Wilkes led two scoring drives.
He finished off the first with the touchdown pass to Hill.
A fourth-down pass to Phillips on the Packers next series gave Colquitt a first down at the Lowndes 1 and Devin Hadley scored his team's final touchdown with 1:16 left in the half.
The six-point halftime deficit went to 13 points midway through the third quarter.
Colquitt had just one second-half first down.
The JV Packers will close out their season on Thursday, September 30 at the stadium against Valdosta.
