The only team he has ever played for are the St. Louis Cardinals as a second baseman. Since 2008, the amount of games he has played per year has gone down and he has not been happy with the Cardinals. This offseason he was a free-agent and wanted to sign with a different team and hopefully get more playing time.
The Los Angeles Dodgers signed Schumaker to a $1.5 million dollar contract. Schumaker is hoping that the Dodgers will make the playoffs in the upcoming season and make a run at the World Series.
