Skip Schumaker

Nathan Smith

Skip Schumaker has seven years of experience in the MLB. The only team he has ever played for are the St. Louis Cardinals as a second baseman. Since  2008, the amount of games he has played per year has gone down and he has not been happy with the Cardinals. This offseason he was a free-agent and wanted to sign with a different team and hopefully get more playing time.

When he got the chance to play for the Cardinals, he would play anywhere, whether it was outfield, or infield. He contributed as much as possible when given the chance. His career batting average is .288, but his defense is extraordinary. He played college baseball at UC-Santa Barbara. His size is not something most teams want, standing at 5-10” tall and weighing only 195 pounds, but playing second base, that is okay.

The Los Angeles Dodgers signed Schumaker to a $1.5 million dollar contract. Schumaker is hoping that the Dodgers will make the playoffs in the upcoming season and make a run at the World Series.
