Baseball's winter meetings is one of the most anticipated moments of the offseason. The anticipation of the fans while they wait for the big name free-agent to head for a new city and team. This year’s big name was outfielder Josh Hamilton.
While Hamilton is not a five-tool player; he is still great baseball player. Hamilton can hit for power and average. Hamilton is looking for a long-term contract. He probably will not get the contract because of his age. Josh is more likely to get a five to seven year contract worth about $127 million. Although he is almost in the decline of his age, he can still produce at a high level.
In 2010, Josh Hamilton won the American League Most Valuable Player. That will more than likely hold some weight in the negotiating process. Hamilton is probably the most valuable free-agent out in the market.
