Super Bowl Prediction

Editorial

Nathan Smith

All football fans look forward to the Super Bowl at the end of the year. This season is Super Bowl XLVII, and there is a big debate as to who will make it that far this year. There are many different teams that have a chance to make it to the Super Bowl, which will be played in New Orleans. Some teams in both the NFC and the AFC have already clinched a playoff spot and have looked good all year long. My AFC prediction to make the playoffs is the New England Patriots from the east; they are lead by star quarterback, Tom Brady. In the NFC, I predict that the Green Bay Packers will advance all the way to the Super Bowl lead by last years MVP Aaron Rodgers.

The Patriots have a good chance to make it to the Super Bowl because of their record and veteran leaders. They are currently in first in the AFC East and have the second best record in all of the AFC. Houston is the only team with a better record; although, the Patriots recently beat the Texans in a 42-14 blowout. Brady is tied for the best passer rating by a quarterback, only behind Redskins rookie Robert Griffin III.

Green Bay leads the NFC North with a 9-4 record. They still have to play the Chicago Bears, Tennessee Titans, and the Minnesota Vikings. Two years ago, the Packers won the Super Bowl. Last year, they made it to the playoffs behind Rodgers’ great season, but unfortunately lost in the first round to the Giants.

I think the Patriots will win because of their high scoring offense and great defense.
