Home » Boys' Basketball NewsMissed OpportunityFebruary 18, 2010 By Adam Wamsley of Oregon High SchoolThe Oregon Freshman Boys Basketball team once again showed their immense improvement throughout this season. The first meeting this season against rival Stoughton resulted in a tough 23 point loss, however, this time around Oregon led in the second half before the Vikings prevailed in the end, 47-37. The loss can be chalked up to cold shooting in the second half, turnovers and missed freethrows. Oregon and Stoughton were tied heading into the fourth quarter. The Panthers missed seven crucial freethrows in the third and four more in the final quarter. The Panthers shot well in the first half hitting 43% of their shots before cooling off in the second where they only managed to make 21%. Throw in 22 turnovers as well, the Panthers came up just a bit short. Next up is a rematch with Edgewood this Friday.
