Former Butte High football standout Bo Taylor dies

•

Bo Taylor, who was a senior on the Butte High School football team when the Bulldogs took the AA state football title against Bozeman in 2012, died in Idaho on Thursday.

Taylor, 19, and Trent Sorensen, 36, both of Blackfoot, Idaho, died after breathing in toxic fumes while they were working on the Georgetown sewer system, Bear Lake County authorities said.

The men, both employees of Taylor Construction of Blackfoot, Idaho, died Thursday while trying to repair a leak inside a manhole.

Bear Lake County Sheriff's department officials said one man collapsed in chest-deep water and the second man was overcome by fumes when he attempted to rescue his co-worker.

They were pronounced dead at a Montpelier hospital.

Taylor was a running back and linebacker for the Bulldogs during its championship season in 2012. He was also a member of the school-record 400-meter track team in 2013. He graduated from Butte High in 2013.
