CLASS 'A' GIRL'S SOCCER CAPSULES

Northwest Montana A Conference



 

Billings Central Rams

2013: 15-0

Coach: Sara Campbell

Key Players: Mariah Wittman, Jr., F; Michaela Stock, Jr. D/M; Natalie Ruegsegger, Jr., GK.

Coach Says: “This is going to be one of the most challenging seasons this team has faced in some time. I can’t wait to see these amazing players learn more about what they are capable of on and off the field as individuals and a team.”

Etc.: The Rams have won the last six Class A state championships. They are 89-1 in their last 90 matches and have won 41 in a row.

Laurel Locomotives

2013: 9-2-1

Head Coach: Aloma Jess

Key Players: Allie McGrath, Sr. (first-team all-conference); Demi Albrecht, Sr. (second-team all-conference); Bre Reilly, Sr. (second-team all-conference).

Coach Says: “It is going to be an interesting ride for the Lady Locos with a mix of several upperclassman and new underclassman. They have a lot of talent individually. Hopefully we can gel into a strong, competitive team.”

Polson Pirates

2013: 4-3-1

Head Coach: Michael Hewston

Key Players: Sarah Howell, Sr. (All State); Linnea Madsen, Sr., (All Conference); Olivia Hewston, So. (All Conference).

Coach says: “Play for each other, can you buy that.”

Whitefish Bulldogs

2013: 12-3

Head Coach: Wendy Farrens

Key Players: Jess Baldonado, Sr, F; Grace Kurtz, Sr., F; Cassidy Grace, Sr., CB; Anna Peterson, Sr., C, M/Forward; Julia Houston, Jr., M/F Haley Nicholson, Jr., M/F.

Coach Says: “The Lady Bulldogs once again have a very competitive season. We are young this year, but we have great potential and are improving each and every day. With the leadership of returning veterans and our captains, we are looking at each training session as a new opportunity to grow as individual players and as a team. This year promises to be a great one.”

Etc.: “The Northern Conference for A schools is getting more competitive each year. In the past, Whitefish and Columbia Falls have dominated play; however, we are seeing improvements from the other three schools and no game is taken lightly.”
