Belgrade turns back Deer Lodge

DEER LODGE – Walks and errors set up the Deer Lodge Wranglers for a long night in a 7-3 loss to the Belgrade Bandits Tuesday in Class A American Legion baseball action.

Wranglers starting pitcher Taylor Stone surrendered seven free passes and four earned runs before being replaced after six innings of duty with his team trailing, 4-0. The hosts also struggled defensively, committing four errors.

Deer Lodge took advantage of a walk and two Belgrade errors in cutting its deficit to 4-2 in the bottom of the sixth. The Bandits answered with a run in the top of the seventh and Kaehl Lowery’s RBI double for the Wranglers in the bottom of the inning marked his team’s final run of the game.

Leadoff hitter Derek Walker led the Wranglers at the plate, going 3 for 5. Lowery was 2 for 4.
