Kalispell Lakers A outdone by Kyler Howke and the Glacier Twins A, 10-5

Kyler Howke went 2-4, sparking the Glacier Twins A to a 10-5 victory over Kalispell Lakers A on Tuesday at Whitefish.

He tripled in the first inning and singled in the sixth inning.

Jesse Walburn pitched lights out for the Glacier Twins A. Jesse held Kalispell Lakers A hitless over 4 1/3 innings, allowed no earned runs, walked none and struck out seven.

The Glacier Twins A pounded Kalispell Lakers A pitching, as six hitters combined for 11 hits, seven RBIs and eight runs scored.

The top of the first saw Kalispell Lakers A take an early lead, 1-0.

The game was never in doubt after the first, as the Glacier Twins A scored three runs on a sacrifice fly by Colten Parker and a two-run triple by Vincent Smith.

One run in the top of the second helped Kalispell Lakers A close its deficit to 3-2. An RBI single by Logan Decock fueled Kalispell Lakers A's comeback. Finally, Austin Robins got Micah Benson to to end the threat.

It didn't take long for the Glacier Twins A to answer as they scored four runs of their own in the second. The Glacier Twins A scored on an RBI single by Colton Gove, an RBI single by Jayce Fagerland, and a two-run single by Vincent.

Two runs in the top of the fourth helped Kalispell Lakers A close its deficit to 7-4. An RBI double by Lukas Decock and an RBI double by Quin Barber gave Kalispell Lakers A life. The Kalispell Lakers A threat came to an end when Austin finally got Brooks Krause to strike out.

After pushing across one run in the top of the fifth, Kalispell Lakers A faced just a 7-5 deficit. An error triggered Kalispell Lakers A's comeback. The Glacier Twins A stopped the rally after Jesse got Lukas to fly out.

The Glacier Twins A scored one run of their own in the fifth. The Glacier Twins A scored on a sacrifice fly by Tristin Steinwand.

The Glacier Twins A added two more runs in the bottom of the sixth. A clutch steal of home scored Colten to open the scoring in the frame.

Red Sox nip Bucs

HAMILTON – Austin Ray drove in a pair of runs to lead the Bitterroot Red Sox to a 6-5 win over the Bitterroot Bucs in a Class A American Legion baseball game Thursday evening.

Chase Connor worked the first 5 1/3 innings to get the win. He allowed 10 hits and all five runs. Tyler Nixon got the final five outs – four on strikeouts – to get the save.

Brad Schaff homered and drove in a pair of runs for the Bucs. He also tossed the complete game, allowing just three hits in the tough-luck loss.

Highlights -- T. Lee of Lewistown batted 2 for 3 with two RBIs and two runs scored. C. Hartford of Lewistown hit a double and brought in two RBIs. Lee was the winning pitcher, allowing six hits and two earned runs. B. Norby and J. Johnson of Sidney had an RBI each.

Highlights — T. Lee was 2 of 2 with two runs for the winners. C. Gallagher went 2 for 4 with one RBI. Bradley pitched the full seven innings and allowed four hits and two walks and struck out one.
