Offenses dominate as Helena Reps outscores Chinook High School (Lethbridge) 14-13
Helena Reps and Chinook High School lit up the scoreboard on Tuesday as they combined for 27 runs. In the end, Helena Reps won the offensive battle 14-13 in seven innings.
The teams banged out 19 hits hits between them, as well as four for extra bases.
The game was back-and-forth heading into the fourth, with seven lead changes.
Helena Reps took the lead in the fourth inning and held on for the victory. An error scored Jackson Thennis and gave Helena Reps the lead for good.
Helena Reps would not relinquish the lead as Chinook High School was unable to weather a four-run fourth inning deficit.
Chinook High School scored on a sacrifice fly by Raleigh Ferby in the fifth inning and an error, an error, and a walk by Chase Carpenter in the seventh inning. Despite its efforts, Chinook High School couldn't get over the hump.
Eamon Byrne got the win in relief for Helena Reps. Eamon pitched 2 2/3 innings and allowed four runs.
Helena Reps hammered Chinook High School pitching as six hitters had a field day, combining for nine hits, seven RBIs and 12 runs scored.
Jordan Johnston was the game's losing pitcher. He allowed eight runs in two innings, walked five and struck out five.
The top of the first saw Chinook High School take an early lead, 2-0. Kade Hurt singled to ignite Chinook High School 's offense. Chinook High School then tacked on more runs when Hurt scored on a wild pitch.
After a quick strike from Chinook High School , Helena Reps responded with four runs in the first. Helena Reps scored on an RBI single by Keinan Stief, an RBI double by Koby Griffin, a steal of home by Koby, and an error.
It didn't take long for Helena Reps to respond as it scored four runs of its own in the second. Helena Reps scored on an RBI single by Keinan, an RBI single by Jackson Thennis, and an error.
Chinook High School matched its one-run third inning with one more in the fifth. In the third, Chinook High School scored on an error, scoring Jay Kotkas.
