Vanessa Stavish stars as Broncs defeats Glacier, 12-1

An exceptional effort by Vanessa Stavish hoisted Broncs to a 12-1 win in six innings over Glacier on Monday.

Vanessa blasted two home runs for Broncs. Vanessa went 2-4 in the game with four RBIs and two runs scored. Vanessa homered in the first and sixth innings.

Broncs blew out Glacier thanks to nine hits, including seven extra base hits. Broncs scored six runs in the fourth on Broncs scored in the fourth on an error, an RBI double by Kayla Blood, a two-run single by Josie Anderson, and a two-run home run by Morgan Ray.

Broncs hit three home runs in the win. Additional home runs for Broncs came when Vanessa homered in the first and sixth innings.

Morgan got the win for Broncs. She allowed one run over six innings. She struck out 13, walked one and surrendered five hits.

Ali Williams couldn't get it done on the rubber for Glacier, taking a loss. She allowed 12 runs in 5 2/3 innings, walked two and struck out five.

Broncs never surrendered the lead after the first inning, scoring three runs on an RBI double by Morgan and a two-run home run by Vanessa.

Rams storm past Bulldogs

HARDIN – Skylar Rockwell went 2-4, including a home run, to lead Billings Central past Hardin 10-1 in Eastern A girls softball Monday.

The game was originally scheduled for Tuesday, but was bumped up a day due to the weather forecast for Tuesday.

Mackenzie Redman went 3-4 at the plate for Central (7-3 overall, 6-0 conference). Molly Day was the starting pitcher for the Rams, before Rockwell entered the game in relief in the sixth

Hot bats not enough, the Fergus Golden Eagles Varsity succumb to Havre, 11-8

The Fergus Golden Eagles Varsity lost a battle of the bats on Monday at Havre, falling short in a 11-8 ballgame against Havre.

The Fergus Golden Eagles Varsity were led by Ali Gremaux's hitting. Ali went 3-5, drove in one and scored two runs. She singled in the third, fifth, and seventh innings.

RACHEL MAJERES recorded the win for Havre even though she allowed seven runs over seven innings. She struck out eight, walked none and surrendered 17 hits.

Cassi Miller took the loss for the Fergus Golden Eagles Varsity. She allowed eight runs in five innings, walked six and struck out six.

In the bottom of the first, Havre grabbed the early lead, 1-0. A solo home run by PAIGE HENDERSON started the inning off.

Havre never trailed after scoring five runs in the fourth on four singles.

Three runs in the top of the fifth helped the Fergus Golden Eagles Varsity close their deficit to 8-6. An RBI single by Paige Towne, a sacrifice fly by Teale Danell, and an RBI single by Ali sparked the Fergus Golden Eagles Varsity's rally. Havre stopped the rally after RACHEL got Maddie Comes to fly out.

Havre increased its lead with three runs in the sixth. The inning got off to a hot start when SHANIA CARLSON homered. That was followed up by DANI WAGNER's single, plating TORI MAZURKIEWICZ.

Two runs in the top of the seventh helped the Fergus Golden Eagles Varsity close their deficit to 11-8. An RBI single by Maddie and a passed ball gave the Fergus Golden Eagles Varsity life. Havre's RACHEL induced a Cassi strike out to close things out.
