Lakers split doubleheader with Belgrade

The Kalispell Lakers AA salvaged an American Legion baseball doubleheader split with the Belgrade Bandits on Sunday afternoon at Griffin Field.

Kalispell (4-4 overall) put on an offensive show in Game 2, banging out 13 hits en route to a 6-4 victory.

Belgrade won the opener 5-1.

Eight Lakers had hits in the finale, led by Tiler Whiteaker, 3 for 3, Walker Malmin, 2 for 4, and Adam Frandsen, 2 for 4.

Malmin and Frandsen had two RBIs each.

Frandsen, Justin Rich and Andy Bemis doubled for the Lakers.

In the opener, Kalispell could muster just three hits against Belgrade pitcher Kooby Ruff. He had four strikeouts and walked one batter.

Brandon Maaseen and Malmin combined on a 5-hitter. Maassen walked seven, but fanned seven batters in five innings.

Frandsen doubled and drove in the Lakers lone run in that outing.

After eight games, opponents are hitting just .198 against the Lakers. Kalispell’s team ERA is 1.75.

Kalispell is allowing just two runs per game on average.

The Lakers are back in action Saturday, 3 p.m., hosting the Mission Valley Mariners A. On Sunday, it’s another home outing with the Bitterrroot Red Sox A. Both games are doubleheaders.

EUREKA — Zeke Webster-Yaqui tripled and drove in three runs while TJ Olson and Bransen Krebs both doubled once to push Mission Valley Mariners A past the Glacier Twins B on the final day of the Earl Russell Tournament.

Mission Valley finished the game with 16 hits. Cole Snyder went 3 for 3 while Brennen Andrews, Alex Killian, Olson, Trevor Paro and Jacob Harrod had two hits each.

The Mariners did all of their scoring in the first four inning. They tallied nine runs in the third.

Chris Park and Sean Hoerner had doubles for Glacier. They also had two hits each.

The Laurel Dodgers cruise past Livingston, 11-0

The Laurel Dodgers pounded Livingston on Sunday 11-0 at Thompson Field -Home in five innings.

The Laurel Dodgers scored five runs in the fourth on the Laurel Dodgers scored in the fourth on an RBI single by Carson Hoke, a two-run single by Mason O'Donnell, and a two-run triple by Daniel Stamper.

Daniel racked up three RBIs on two hits for the Laurel Dodgers.

The Laurel Dodgers' Mason kept Livingston off the scoreboard for all five innings he was on the rubber. He pitched a shutout, allowing no opposing players to cross the plate on four hits while ringing up eight.

Mitch King was the game's losing pitcher. He allowed 11 runs in four innings, walked none and struck out one.

The Laurel Dodgers went up for good in the first, scoring two runs on an RBI double by Daniel and an RBI single by Kade Osborne

The Emmanuel Angels muster 1 hit, drop 15-3 contest to Lewistown Redbirds

The Emmanuel Angels wound up on the wrong side of a 15-3 score on Sunday at Lewistown Field, tasting defeat at the hands of Lewistown Redbirds.

Eric Knox got it done on the bump on the way to a win. He allowed three runs over five innings. He struck out three, walked four and surrendered one hit.

Lewistown Redbirds' Tre Bradley, Jace Davis and Cordell Gallagher combined for six hits and nine RBIs.

Connor McCullough took the loss for the Emmanuel Angels. He allowed 10 runs in two-thirds of an inning, walked one and struck out one.

The lead stayed with Lewistown Redbirds after the first, when it scored 12 runs on two doubles, two errors, and three singles.

Three the Emmanuel Angels runs crossed the plate in the top half of the fourth, making the score 12-3. An error and a two-run error gave the Emmanuel Angels life. But, Eric got Elijha Brewer to ground out to end the inning.

Lewistown Redbirds defeats the Emmanuel Angels despite Nolan Woodard's strong effort, 5-0

Nolan Woodard allowed one hit, but the Emmanuel Angels still fell to Lewistown Redbirds 5-0 in seven innings on Sunday at Lewistown Field.

Tyler Lee got the win for Lewistown Redbirds. He tossed seven innings of shutout ball. Tyler struck out four, walked two and gave up four hits.

Jake Hammatt was the game's losing pitcher. He lasted just 3 1/3 innings, walked three, struck out one, and allowed five runs.

Lewistown Redbirds never surrendered the lead after the first inning, scoring one run on a sacrifice fly by Tre Bradley.

Lewistown Redbirds added three more runs in the bottom of the fourth. A error scored Tyler for the inning's first run.

The Laurel Dodgers take out Livingston with help from Daniel Stamper, 10-6

Daniel Stamper went 3-3 at the plate, helping the Laurel Dodgers to a 10-6 victory over Livingston on Sunday at Thompson Field -Home.

He doubled in the third inning and singled in the second and fifth innings.

Brenden Cellmer got the win for the Laurel Dodgers. He allowed four runs over five innings. He struck out seven, walked five and surrendered five hits.

Sterling Lay took the loss for Livingston. He allowed 10 runs in three innings, walked three and struck out none.

The Laurel Dodgers never trailed after scoring two runs in the first on an RBI double by Kade Osborne and a groundout by Trevor Meier.

The Laurel Dodgers built upon their lead with six runs in the second. A error scored Brenden to get the Laurel Dodgers on the board in the inning.

After pushing across four runs in the top of the third, Livingston faced just a 8-4 deficit. A wild pitch, a two-run double by Mitch King, and a groundout by Sheldon Smith gave Livingston life. Brenden ended the inning by getting Brock Peterson to.

Two runs in the top of the seventh helped Livingston close its deficit to 10-6. A groundout by Brock and a groundout by Calvin Kunda fueled Livingston's comeback. The Laurel Dodgers closed the game out when Jake Worden got Sterling to strike out.
