Dillon Beavers Varsity musters 6 hits, drops 15-6 contest to Florence

Despite a big day at the dish from Addie Chipman-Hanson, who finished 2-4, Dillon Beavers Varsity lost 15-6 to Florence at Frenchtown #2 on Friday.

Florence's H Hale, N Schurg, M Cole and K Drozoz combined for eight hits and five RBIs.

Dillon Beavers Varsity jumped out to an early 1-0 lead in the top of the first.

The game's last lead went to Florence thanks to a first inning rally that saw two runs cross the plate on.

Florence piled on four more runs in the bottom of the second. A steal of home scored N Drozoz for the inning's first run. That was followed up by H Hale's single, scoring K Drozoz.

After pushing across one run in the top of the fourth, Dillon Beavers Varsity faced just a 8-2 deficit. An error sparked Dillon Beavers Varsity's rally. Finally, K Drozoz got Adrianna Pittman to fly out to end the threat.

Four runs in the top of the fifth helped Dillon Beavers Varsity close its deficit to 8-6. An RBI single by Audrey Schurg, an error, a sacrifice fly by Kimee Hiritsco-Murray, and an error gave Dillon Beavers Varsity life. Adrianna hit into a fielder's choice to end the Dillon Beavers Varsity threat.

It didn't take long for Florence to respond as it scored five runs of its own in the fifth. Florence scored on a passed ball, an error, an error, and a two-run home run by M Cole.
