Lady Broncs: Reloaded and Ready

As the Frenchtown Lady Broncs hit the field getting ready for the season opener it's hard not to forget the magical run they had last year winning the Class A State Title.

"Winning that state championship was really special for us I think it brought us all together and this year we are so excited and hope we can do it again," said Junior Pitcher Morgan Ray.

"It's definitely really exciting getting that state championship last year and stuff and just coming back and hoping to did it again.  I mean you want to feel that feeling all the time so we are definitely looking for another state title," said Senior Vanessa Stavish.

Although Frenchtown graduated some talented players including Abby Indreland who's playing at Utah State, they return a large core of last year's squad and have the young talent to be among this years favorites.

"Well we lost a lot of really good seniors and it's going to be tough, it really is, but we have a lot of talent this year and hopefully we will be just as good as last year," said Ray.

"You know you have a good group of kids coming back, you know you have pitching coming back so that's pretty exciting to know you are going to get to work with that and you know you are going to be able to compete with anybody you step on the field with," said Frenchtown Head Coach Eli Field.

Coach Field has built a winning program and atmosphere at Frenchtown that the players love being a part of.

"Yea it's great to be a part of a program that's been successful for so long we've had so many great girls come through here and play collegiately so it's just great to be in a winning program," said Stavish

It's been a battle between Frenchtown and Polson for western and state dominance over the years and so it's only fitting that if the Lady Broncs want to repeat, they'd have to do it on this years state tourney site, in Polson.

"it's great to go back to Polson this year because I remember the year they won the state championship there I was just a little girl and my parents brought me up there watching the games and it's a dream to play on that exact same field with this group of girls," said Senior Keegan Wickman.
