Libby 68, Eureka 44 At Libby, Jared Winslow and Barak Lapka each scored 17 points to help the Loggers fell the Lions in the nonconference matchup. Winslow hit four 3-pointers and Lapka hit eight twos for their combined 34 points. Kraig Nelson added 16 points for Northwestern A Libby, which improved to 7-9 overall. District 7-B Eureka was outscored 46-24 in the second half and fell to 0-17 overall. Tanner Blankers and Trey Bohne had two 3-pointers apiece. Blankers led with 18 points, Bohne added 11. Boyd Jenne Scored 18 points to lead four Dillon players in double figures as the Beavers beat Butte High 62-42 in a non-conference boys’ basketball game Tuesday at the Butte Civic Center. Ben Folsom added 15 points for the defending Class A State champions, while Caleb Gillis scored 14 and Troy Scott poured in 11. Dallas Cook paced the Bulldogs with 15 points. Peter Granger scored 11, and Killian O’Leary tallied nine. The Bulldogs are back in action Thursday in a non-conference game at Anaconda.
Panthers hold off BC boysUpdated: February 5, 2013
Trevor Mahn poured in 17 points to pace the Panthers, who improved to 9-6 by avenging a Dec. 20 loss in Butte. Jered Bryant scored 11 points in the win, while Brandon Karnath netted 10. Brady Tippett’s nine points paced the Maroons, who fell to 10-6. Kale Guldseth scored eight points for BC, while Nate Bolstad tossed in seven. BC also got four from Marcus Ferriter, three from Danny Peoles and Dylan Goodell and two from Connor McGree, Emmett McCarthy and Dalton Sessions. The Maroons are back in action Saturday when they play a Southwestern A game at Corvallis.
