Sentinel rallies to stop Corvallis

•

“The agony of defeat was really hard,” Corvallis head coach Joe Jessop said. “Both teams played really hard. We matched (the Spartans’) physical effort, which made for a great game.”

Austin Violette led Sentinel with 13 points while Tres Cunningham chipped in nine.

The Spartans trailed by three heading into the fourth quarter and outscored the Blue Devils 11-7 in the final stanza.

Sentinel earned its first win of the season in three tries.

“We called a timeout with 1.9 seconds left,” Jessop said. “The play we drew up worked beautifully. We got a shot right underneath the hoop, but it rolled right off the rim.”

Jansen Jessop led the way for Corvallis with 12 points. Chase Walker added 10 for the Blue Devils, who dropped to 1-2.
