By the Missoulian | Posted: Saturday, October 10, 2009 11:10 pm BIGFORK - The Polson boys' soccer team showed a measure of resiliency in its regular-season ending Northern A match Saturday with Bigfork. The Pirates fought back from an early two-goal deficit in the first half and Joakim Kongelf's tally with six minutes left in regulation lifted Polson to a 4-3 victory. Alec MacCallum and Lael Richmond scored in the opening 10 minutes to give the Vikings a 2-0 lead. But Jonathan Murphy, Sean Hart and William Wallace each scored goals before halftime to give Polson a 3-2 lead at intermission. MacCallum answered for Bigfork in the 48th minute before Kongelf netted the game-winning tally in the final stages of the match. Clay Frissell made three saves in goal to earn the win for Polson, which finished the season 5-2-1 in the league, 7-2-1 overall. Austin Jordt had nine saves for Bigfork (2-7-0, 3-7-2). Jack Steele had a goal and an assist and Jon Reimer and Curran Edland also scored for Whitefish, which earned the league's top seed in the postseason with the victory. Travis Adams added a pair of assists for the Bulldogs (6-1-1, 8-3-1) and Alex Whitaker had 13 saves. Lewis Brossman stopped six shots in goal for the Loggers (6-2-0, 9-3-0), who earned the second seed from the Northern A. Madisen Cross and Callie Marsh each had two saves for the Bulldogs (5-3-0, 6-4-2). Caitlin Charlebois scored twice and Hauns scored her first goal as Bigfork (2-7-0, 2-9-0) took a 3-1 lead. Reegan Von Wildenradt scored twice in the final minute of the first half to draw the Pirates even. Hauns netted the game-winner 15 minutes into the second half. Marissa Bender added a first-half tally for Polson (0-8-0, 1-9-1).
