ANACONDA – Brooke Chapman and Taylor Flynn helped the Anaconda volleyball team to a hard-fought Southwestern A victory over league foe Corvallis on Friday afternoon.

The Copperheads posted a five-set victory, taking the see-saw battle 25-17, 19-25, 25-20, 25-27, 15-11.

Chapman did her damage at the net, knocking down 19 of Anaconda’s 48 kills and adding four blocks.

Flynn contributed team highs with 19 digs and three aces.

Anaconda also received 40 assists from Kaylea Jorgensen and 10 kills from Mia Estes.

Laura Berner led the way for the Blue Devils with 11 kills, 20 assists and two aces.

Electric City Invitational

At Great Falls, Kalispell Glacier, Missoula Sentinel and Kalispell Flathead advanced to the championship bracket after completing pool play at the two-day tournament.

The Spartans went 4-3 on the day, beating Billings Skyview, Missoula Hellgate, Bozeman and Great Falls CMR.

The Wolfpack won five of seven matches with defeats of Missoula Hellgate, Lewistown, Sentinel, CMR and Bozeman.

Flathead also won five matches and Billings Senior went undefeated.

The championship round begins at 10 a.m. Saturday at Great Falls High.
